Facnor Mainsail Reefing systemss

Facnor Mainsail systems comprises of a housing that bolts onto the back of an existing mast.

The gooseneck needs no alteration as the whole housing fits above the gooseneck. This means no drilling extra holes in the mast and because its is bolted it may be removed and transfered to a different mast. The housing has a internal foil that is turned via a rope drive at the bottom of the housing. The track to fit on top of the boom is included with the kit as is the travellor for the outhaul.

How it works. The sail is installed into the foil that is inside the housing, its is pull up using the main halyard. Attach the tack of the sail to the top of the drive unit and thread the outhaul rope through the outhaul block on the sail clew. Tension the mainsail luff enough so as to remove luff creases but take care not to over tighten..Insert the two lower guide rollers. To reef the sail pul

l the reefing line so that the foil will turn anti clock wise but keep some tension on the outhaul line.

The sail will roll up in the housing, it may be a little stiff to start with but will get easier as the sail get used to beiing rolled up.
