Ocean Spec with Sailspar is a strong, heavy duty, rugged, well engineered mast build. The masthead box is made from extrusion, has 2 sheaves forward and 2 aft, toggles for forestay and backstay and an external spinaker crane. Tangs are external with tang plates to spread the load over the section and with compression tubes to stop the section crushing. Spreaders are fitted in sockets with compression tubes fitted under. Winch pads are stainless steel as are the halyard exit chaffe plates. For halyards to be led aft, deck blocks that attach to the heel can be provided. Goosenecks and kicker fittings that wrap well around the section are also made in stainless steel*
